This is a conference table I designed and built for the United States Air Force Central Command (USCENTAF). The table is made from nearly 100 board feet of solid American Black Walnut over 1 1/4" thick. It has 6 coats of finish, each one hand rubbed to produce a beautiful satin luster. The legs are emulations of F-16 fighter jet wings. The two outboard legs are configured for take-off and landing and the center leg is reflexed for high speed course. With proper care and maintenance, the life of this table will be measured in centuries.
I designed and built this Honduran mahogany video conferencing table for the Joint Task Force of the Americas in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. It's 18' long on each side and 7' wide at the base. The "V" shape allows everyone seated at the table to face the projection screen and cameras without being blocked by the person in front.
This mahogany and oak conference table is 14 feet long and 5 feet wide. The top is solid mahogany, over one inch thick. The oak edging is a cascade effect, using two different radiuses, which is repeated again on the top and bottom of the Doric columns that serve as the legs of the table. This piece is for an advertising agency, and it gets a lot of use as a work table. This required a super hard finish that would stand up to abuse. When I went back to inspect the table a year or so after it was delivered, I was pleased to see that it still looked almost like new.
This is a model of a custom conference table I designed for a university conference center. Often, it is more illustrative to actually make a model of a project rather than a rendering.
The base that the model sits on is the material and finish that I am suggesting for the table, Honduran Mahogany with a hand rubbed, high gloss finish. The table is to be 12 feet wide and 13 ½ feet long.
This custom conference table is the largest piece I have designed and built. It is four sided and over 15 feet on each side. The client asked me to design a conference table that had no legs to interfere with the seating.
The cantilevered top and arches were my solution. Each side of the table counterbalances and supports the other. The table is solid and veneered walnut and the top is Corian with a solid walnut bullnose.
Architectural Arts builds handmade furniture in a wide variety of styles. Our custom conference tables nicely accompany our other commercial office furniture and custom business signs.
